HARTFORD, CONN. (August 27, 2024): Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford has named Ron Hadorn to serve as the organization’s interim CEO. Hadorn will lead the organization following the departure of President & CEO Sam Gray, Jr. As previously announced, Gray has been promoted to Vice President for the Northeast Region for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He leaves the organization after 23 years of exemplary service.
Hadorn will bring more than 35 years of experience as a leader in the Boys & Girls Club movement. He recently retired as Vice President for the Northeast Region of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and previously served as Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his work in youth development and nonprofit leadership.
“We will greatly miss Sam and his committed leadership and tremendous contributions. We thank him deeply for his passion and dedication. During our transition, we are excited to have someone of Ron’s caliber. He has the requisite experience, personality and demeanor to be a terrific interim CEO,” said Ping Hsieh, Executive Chairman of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Board of Trustees.
As part of the transition, the Board of Trustees has selected EOS Transition Partners to serve as the executive search firm in the pursuit of Gray’s successor.
“We are optimistic and looking forward to our future. In working with EOS Partners, we are confident that we will find a strong CEO to lead us to further achievements and in fulfilling our mission to enable the young people of Hartford to reach their full potential,” Hsieh said.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford is the birthplace of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America movement and will celebrate its 165th anniversary in 2025. It remains a leader in youth development and is currently enrolling for the 2024-2025 school year. Staying true to its humble beginnings in 1860, membership is just $10 for the academic year.
Hadorn’s first day with the organization is September 3, 2024.
