The Board of Directors of CHI (Church Homes, Inc.) is pleased to announce the appointment of William (“Bill”) Thompson as the organization’s new President and CEO.  Mr. Thompson assumed the position in February, replacing long-time President and CEO, Patrick J. Gilland.

CHI is a non-profit, nonsectarian corporation committed to providing the finest in residential living and healthcare services for older adults.  CHI owns and operates two highly regarded continuum of care communities in Connecticut:  Avery heights in Hartford (www.Averyheights.org )  and Noble Horizons in Salisbury (www.noblehorizons.org).

In elevating Mr. Thompson to his new position as President and CEO, the Board recognized Bill’s outstanding leadership during eight years of service as CHI’s Vice President and Administrator of its Avery Heights campus.  Before arriving at Avery Heights, Bill spent over twenty years serving Connecticut’s older adults in several senior living and nursing facilities.  Throughout his career, Bill has prioritized “building good relationships, exercising sound business decisions and promoting positive working environments.”

Now, Bill says his role is to extend CHI’s mission of service into the next decade by fulfilling the organization’s commitment to promote each resident’s optimal independence, assure knowledgeable and consistent leadership in the field of senior living, and develop innovative programs and services to meet the changing needs and wishes of its residents.
