NEW BRITAIN, CT – Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) has welcomed Natalie Sajkowicz, MD and Perry Staltaro, PsyD, JD to the hospital’s neuroscience care team. The HFSC neuroscience care team provides a comprehensive continuum of patient-centered specialty care for a range of neurobehavioral, neuropsychological, and neuromuscular conditions as well as spinal cord injury.
Physiatrist Dr. Sajkowicz brings a holistic approach to care for patients with complex medical needs She provides diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services for individuals with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries as part of an interdisciplinary team. “I am very excited to welcome Dr. Sajkowicz to our team,” says William Pesce, DO, senior vice president and chief medical officer, “She joins us with a strong focus in rehabilitation for individuals with specialized recovery needs and fellowship training in spinal cord rehabilitation, and she shares our commitment to providing the highest quality patient-centered care.”
Natalie Sajkowicz completed training as a Doctor of Allopathic Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine. She completed an internship in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Mount Auburn Hospital, CT as well as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Tufts Medical Center, and a Spinal Cord Injury Fellowship, at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the VA Boston Healthcare System. She is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Neuropsychologist Dr. Staltaro, has expanded the capacity of the neuropsychology team at HFSC. He provides diagnostic, assessment and psychotherapy services on an outpatient basis as a part of the multidisciplinary brain health team. Dr. Staltaro provides care to patients across 
the life span, from children to seniors, specializing in cognitive health and the neuropsychological impact of illness, injury or trauma, including dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, concussion, stroke, spinal cord injury and psychiatric disorders. Dr. Staltaro also diagnoses and treats attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disorders and autism spectrum disorders.
“Dr. Staltaro joins us with an extensive background and knowledge in psychology and neuropsychology, with a focus in pediatric neuropsychology,” said John Stanwood, PhD, Chief of Psychology. “He is a valuable addition to our growing neuroscience continuum.”
Perry Staltaro completed his Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD), his Post-Doctoral Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) and his Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) at the California School of Professional Psychology. He is recognized as a diplomate in pediatric neuropsychology by the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology.
