Connecticut’s Old State House to Host “Post-Election Social” Thursday, November 17th, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Now that the results are in and the campaign commercials are finally over, The Connecticut Democracy Center is inviting the public to a “Post-Election Social” hosted by Connecticut’s Old State House on November 17th where attendees will look back at what was a historic, months-long election season here in our state and across the country. The Post-Election Social, scheduled for Thursday, November 17th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., will conclude The Democracy Center’s Untangling the Tally—a series of programs that looked inside the election process in the months leading up to Election Day 2022.Attendees will have the chance to network and take part in small group  discussions where they will share their voting experiences during the Election—including the media’s impact, the influence of social media, hurdles to voting, political fact-checking and election reporting, among other topics.“The goal with our ‘Untangling the Tally’ series and upcoming Post-Election Social is to encourage civil conversation about elections and foster communication and understanding of different experiences with voting,” said Mariana Garcia, Public Programs Manager for The Connecticut Democracy Center at Connecticut’s Old State House. “The 2022 Election provides Connecticut residents a great opportunity to reflect on what is and is not working in our elections—and we’re looking forward to providing a fun, engaging and civil forum where people can share their thoughts and experiences.”Registration is encouraged, but not required. You can register here. The event is free to attend. Food will be provided by Salute Restaurant, with drinks available for purchase.
