In the Spirit of Giving, More than 200 Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut Employees Volunteered with 24 Community Partners to Address Food Insecurity and Other Local Needs

PARISSIPANY, NJ – November 28, 2023 – Two hundred and six associates at Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut have donated 510 volunteer hours to 24 community partners as part of its 5th Annual All-Associates Volunteer Day. The associates have sought to empower smiles across New Jersey and Connecticut by working together to address food insecurity, human services needs, and animal care.“Our associates are passionate about giving back to the community,” said Dennis G. Wilson, President & Chief Executive Officer, Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut. “At Delta Dental, volunteerism is ingrained in our company’s ethos, and it is exemplified by the community service our associates provide to our neighbors throughout the year. I would like to thank everyone who volunteered for demonstrating what can happen when individuals decide to come together for a common purpose.”Among the 24 community-based organizations supported by associates, highlights include:

  • America’s Grow a Row: 22 volunteers served as part of a team of 85 volunteers that harvested 108,000 pounds of winter squash, providing 432,000 servings of farm fresh food to communities in need.
  • Community FoodBank of New Jersey: 20 volunteers served for 40 hours to pack 4,971 bags of pasta that contributed to 4,143 meals.
  • Connecticut Foodshare: Volunteers served for 14 hours, sorting 2,000 pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 1,667 meals.
