Illuminating the Stories of Hartford's Women of the Arts

Discover the rich history of women artists from Hartford. Gary Knoble, art collector and NBMAA trustee, will discuss the work of the numerous women artists who were part of the vibrant Hartford art scene in 19th and early 20th centuries, illuminating the masterful portraits, still-life, and landscape paintings created by more than 25 painters including Harriet Beecher Stowe and Margaret Miller Cooper.The talk will include works by women artists in the collections of the NBMAA, Town and County Club, the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Florence Griswold Museum and private collections.
