Findings to be Discussed at Aurora’s March 27 Annual Meeting at Hartford Public Library
February 20, 2024 | West Hartford – Donors, community partners, and other friends of the Aurora Women and Girls Foundation are invited to attend the non-profit's 2025 Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 27, 2025, 5:30-7:30pm at the Hartford Public Library – the official kickoff of its 25th anniversary year. Click here to register.
“Last year was one of the most pivotal in Aurora’s history,” said Executive Director Jennifer B. Steadman, Ph.D. “Aside from setting a number of fundraising and participation records, it also marked the first year of our transformative new program for high school girls of color – the first CT chapter of a national initiative funded by Melinda French Gates’ Pivotal Ventures, the Ford Foundation, and other national entities.”
In addition to recapping key highlights from 2024, Steadman will unveil Aurora’s brand-new, seminal research report, Toward Equity: Investing in Women and Girls for Connecticut’s Future, which examines the status of women and girls during the first quarter of the 21st century and recommends policy and philanthropic strategies to ensure women can be full and equal participants in Connecticut’s social, economic, and political fabric and that their families are economically secure, well-educated, and safe.
