Saint Francis Hospital Welcomes Four New Board Members

HARTFORD, Conn. (March 11, 2025) – Saint Francis Hospital is excited to welcome four new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the leadership group are Hector Glynn, David Hopkins, Edward Kelly, DMD, and Ronald Kimmel, M.D.

Hector Glynn serves as the President and CEO of The Village for Families and Children, Inc. Since joining The Village in 2007, Glynn has held various leadership roles, culminating in his current appointment in January 2024. With expertise in program development, strategy, and advocacy, he has played a key role in statewide initiatives and frequently testifies before the legislature on issues affecting children and families. Glynn also serves as Board Chair for CT Voices for Children and is the chair of the program committee at CT Health Foundation.

David Hopkins is President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Hartford, a not-profit 501(c)3 whose mission is to promote racial equity through economic empowerment. Since joining the agency in 2019, Hopkins has grown the budget through aggressive fundraising and cost management, strategic partnerships, and expanded programming. Passionate about culture, systems, and resources aligning, Hopkins previously served as CEO of a community health center, ran an independent consultancy, and worked in public finance and community development banking.

Edward Kelly, DMD, serves as Chair of the Department of Dentistry and President of the Medical Staff at Saint Francis. Dr. Kelly maintains a clinical practice at the Saint Francis Dental Center, while also overseeing the employment, budget, and credentialing of the department, including the General Practice Residency in Dentistry. Before his current role in leading the Medical Staff, he spent two years as Vice President, and two as Secretary and Treasurer. Dr. Kelly, who has spent his entire career at Saint Francis, is also a Board Member of the American Association of Hospital Dentists and serves as a faculty member of Implanting Mentors.

Ronald Kimmel, M.D., MBA, is an internal medicine physician with Prime HealthCare, a partner in Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group. Dr. Kimmel provides comprehensive primary care services to patients while also providing clinical oversight for APRNs in the practice. He serves as a teacher and mentor to medical students and internal medicine residents and is responsible for the financial performance of the office. Dr. Kimmel has a deep understanding of Accountable Care Organizations and value-based healthcare, and extensive experience in population health management, quality improvement, and utilization management.
