Liberty Bank Foundation Donates $25K to Urban league of Greater Hartford’s Project Stable Program

For Training, Employment Services, Financial Coaching & Income Resources

(MIDDLETOWN, Conn., February 18, 2025) David W. Glidden, President & CEO of Liberty Bank and President of the Liberty Bank Foundation, today announced that Team Liberty has provided a $25,000 grant to the Urban League of Greater Hartford for Project STABLE, its proprietary economic enrichment program that operates within the organization’s Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) to deliver industry-specific Success, Training, Asset Building, Learning, and Employment services to primarily minority, low-income Greater Hartford residents.

The FOC is a national LISC (Local Initiative Support Corporation) service model launched in Connecticut in late 2020. LISC requires matching funds from community stakeholders to help secure staffing and cover facility and administrative costs for FOC partners, like the Urban League.

“This marks the third consecutive year that Liberty Bank has directed funds toward the Urban League of Greater Hartford FOC,” said Glidden. “Liberty Bank and the Liberty Bank Foundation have been strong community partners of organizations across the state that share our mission of improving the lives of our customers, teammates and communities through building stronger and more diverse communities. The Urban League of Greater Hartford’s programs and services are changing lives, building financial independence, and providing other vital tools to navigate these unprecedented times together.”

“We greatly appreciate the ongoing relationship with Liberty Bank and its staff,” explains Nicole Hughey, Board Chair of the Urban League of Greater Hartford. “This partnership has been in place for some time and represents a shared commitment to strengthen Hartford’s most vulnerable citizens.”
