Saint Francis awarded with three Gold Plus recognitions for Stroke and Heart Failure care.
HARTFORD, Conn. (June 30, 2021) – Saint Francis Hospital earned three American Heart Association Achievement Awards for cardiac care, stroke, and heart failure care. Saint Francis, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, was awarded with Gold Plus recognition in Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke, Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure, and Mission: Lifeline® – STEMI Receiving Hospital.

Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Quality Achievement Award honors the commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research based guidelines.
Get With The Guidelines® Heart Failure Quality Achievement Award is an inpatient quality program that strives to improve outcomes for heart failure patients including reduced readmissions and increased healthy days at home.
An ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a type of heart attack that mainly affects the lower chambers of the heart. Mission: Lifeline® – STEMI Receiving Hospital is designed to showcase hospitals who provide reperfusion support for STEMIs 24/7. Facilities who earn the Mission: Lifeline® award coordinate with a network of referring hospitals and emergency medical services to provide guideline directed STEMI care for their community.
Hospitals receiving Gold Plus Achievement Awards have reached an aggressive goal of treating patients to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association® for two consecutive calendar years or more. In addition, these hospitals have demonstrated compliance to an additional level of heart failure quality during the 24-month or more time period.
