The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford (BGCH) will host a socially- distanced groundbreaking for its new club in Hartford’s South End at 11:30 a.m. please note new time on June 11, 2020. Christopher Swift, chairman and CEO of The Hartford and chairman of the BGCH Capital Campaign; Alan J. Kreczko, chairman of the BGCH Board of Trustees; and President and CEO of BGCH Sam Gray will join Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and other officials for the announcement. Special guests include Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez, superintendent of Hartford Public Schools; and 2020 BCGH Youth of the Year Chassidy Gonzalez.
The groundbreaking will be limited to the speakers and members of the press and held at the future site Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford South End Club located behind Burr School at 129 Ledyard St., Hartford. The event will be held rain or shine. Street parking will be available. Your coverage is welcome.
