Carrianne Polo Receives Women’s Leadership Award, Mayoral Proclamation from West Hartford Chamber of Commerce

June 26, 2023 – Farmington, CT – Carrianne Polo, Founder, and CEO of New Park Creative, was awarded the Elizabeth Gustin Basil Women’s Leadership Award by the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Spotlight Awards Dinner, June 26th at the Farmington Polo Club. This award honors the contributions and leadership of women in the West Hartford business community. In recognition of her accomplishment, Carrianne was also honored with a formal proclamation presented by West Hartford Mayor, Shari Cantor, at the West Hartford Town Hall on July 11.

Carrianne is the second recipient of the Elizabeth Gustin Basil Women’s Leadership Award, established in 2021 to honor the legacy of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce’s first woman chairperson. This award recognizes a woman who, through her work, service, and philanthropy, has empowered women to advance in business or leadership roles. It also recognizes the award winner’s track record of mentorship, setting positive examples, or creating opportunities for the advancement of women. Carrianne is an active and engaged advocate, committed to using her platform to empower the advancement of women in business.

“I don’t think we talk about the journey of female leaders enough,” Polo said in her acceptance speech. “Sharing stories and passing down wisdom of our feminine power is how we progress,” she said. “You’re doing a great job,” Polo told the women in the room – even if you feel like you are struggling to balance work and family and can only manage one sip of coffee before a morning Zoom meeting. She urged women not to hold back, to seek mentors, and “don’t stop until you own the table, the chairs, and the whole damn building. Keep doing business like a woman.”

Carrianne is driven by curiosity, a love of adventure, and her entrepreneurial spirit. She’s a successful entrepreneur and brand strategist with over 15 years of experience in marketing, creative services, and empowering business growth. Service leadership and a helping mindset are the foundation of everything she does, making it her mission to create spaces 2 that foster collaboration and provide opportunities for clients, team members, and the community.

Carrianne is a champion for gender equity and enjoys volunteering her time with organizations that support entrepreneurship, innovation, and young women in business. She serves on the board of directors for the Connecticut Women’s Council and is a co-founder of Adweek Rising, a mentorship program focused on supporting the next generation of marketing talent by connecting them with industry leaders worldwide. As a public speaker, Carrianne has shared her wisdom and expertise with many audiences, presenting on mentorship at Brandweek, telling her story at the Women’s Achieve Summit, and, most recently, as a keynote speaker for the University of Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
