Part of the mission of Covenant Prep is that we make a 12 year commitment to each and every student who graduates 8th grade. When students leave our doors, they enter into our Graduate Support Program, where we continue to provide mentorship, advocacy, and guidance as they navigate new educational environments. On Tuesday, June 6, we graduated our 13th class who officially entered our Graduate Support Program, along with 134 students who have graduated before them since 2011. Among those alumni is Staff Sergeant Brandon Viera, who graduated from Covenant in 2012 and is now proudly serving in the Marines. He returned to Covenant Prep’s graduation as our Alumni Speaker, and he told the students that sometimes things need to break or fail in order to rebuild stronger. He spoke about the importance of resilience, discipline, and perseverance and reminded them that they will all continue to encounter challenges and adversity, but they have received the necessary tools at Covenant to repair and strengthen them.

This year’s class is headed to Northwest Catholic, Avon Old Farms, Kent School, and Oxford Academy for high school. We are thrilled to see what they will accomplish with the incredible resources that await them! As he addressed his fellow graduates, Isaiah Agyekum, Class President, recognized his classmates for their kindness, authentic friendships, knowledge, and laughter over their time at Covenant: he expects them to continue building their brotherhood for years to come. It was a special night celebrating these 8th graders!

We wish all of our graduates the best of luck and will miss them dearly in our halls everyday. We know we will see them again in their new schools and when they come back to visit us at Covenant Prep! In the meantime, we are looking forward to having the rest of our students back in session on June 28th for our Summer Academy held at Avon Old Farms.
