The Connecticut Forum has announced its 2022-2023 Season at The Bushnell with a line-up of accomplished and renowned panelists and timely, challenging, and entertaining topics.
The season kicks off with How Music Moves Us on Friday, October 14, 2022, with Grammy Award-winning musician, singer/songwriter, and historian Rhiannon Giddens. Giddens, and a panelist to be announced, will talk about the impact music has on our lives and explore how the music of America intersects with our country’s history. The evening will include musical performances.
On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, The Connecticut Forum has the great honor to welcome U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor for a discussion about her life, career, and time on the Supreme Court. NOTE: Justice Sotomayor will be participating remotely in this live conversation. Justice Sotomayor will be projected onto a large, on-stage screen; the event moderator will appear live on The Bushnell stage. All attendees will receive a complimentary, signed copy of one of Justice Sotomayor’s books.
The third Forum of the season will tackle bias and misinformation in today’s media landscape. Misinformation and Finding the Truth on Thursday, March 23, 2023, will be a substantive, thoughtful conversation covering wide-ranging topics including the spread of misinformation and its impact on our society, the difficulty of sorting information in an age of information overload, the power of social media, and more. Featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ronan Farrow, and additional panelists to be announced.
The season finale, Husky Nation! Leadership, Teamwork, and Life Off the Court, on Thursday, May 4, 2023, will be a night of celebration of the UConn Women’s Basketball program. Featuring head coach Geno Auriemma and two former UConn players to be announced, this will be a spirited and inspiring conversation about the storied history of the beloved UConn basketball program, as well as the lives and careers of those on the panel.
“Where else but The CT Forum can you experience the thrill of live, riveting conversations among renowned experts and personalities on topics that span from music to journalism, basketball to the Supreme Court?” said Ruth Cullen, Executive Director of The Connecticut Forum. “We are proud to continue to enrich the cultural vitality of our capital city and state with unique programming that brings our community together through the free and active exchange of ideas.”
