Easterseals Veterans Rally Point launches build out of $2.5M state of the art Veterans services center
Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern CT has appointed Enterprise Builders to serve as the organization’s design and build firm for the $2.5M build-out of Easterseals Veterans Rally Point at its Norwich, CT facility.
Driven by a significant grant from the CT State Bond Commission, the design and build-out of Veterans Rally Point expands Easterseals services for Veterans and positions Easterseals as a vital resource for serving all CT Veterans. “This 18,000 square foot one-stop service center for Veterans, Service Members, and their families will meet the growing needs of all CT Veterans to ensure that Veterans have the support and can live their best life,” said, Ron Welch BG, US Army Ret, Vice President of Military Services for Easterseals.
With the assistance of legal counsel, Robinson + Cole, the RFP went out on August 18, 2020, and proposals were reviewed through October. The completion of the buildout will culminate with a ribbon-cutting on 9/11/2021. “We have been steadily bringing together all the right resources and ideas to make this facility the definitive program to support veterans. With the selection of this outstanding builder, we now have the final piece that will bring it all together,” stated former CEO, Allen Gouse.
The Easterseals Veterans Rally Point design and build team integrated the needs of all CT Veterans into the design plan. To serve those who have served, this state of the art facility will include a commercial-grade kitchen, climbing wall, joint operation center, maker space and social enterprise area, fitness center, multi-purpose area, computer lab, relaxation and meditation room, food pantry, clothing room, military memories area, medical exam room and more. “We chose Enterprise Builders because they understood the importance of serving veterans holistically. Our vision is to create a post-COVID space that provides a center of excellence for our veterans and their families. In the space, we plan to provide legal services, financial counseling, employment professionals, certified veteran service officers, behavioral health specialists, peer to peer support groups, and fitness trainers,” said Easterseals Board Chair, V. Vanessa Williams.
