(Hartford, CT) As homelessness continues to rise across the state, the urgency to raise funds for programs supporting families and individuals has never been greater. In response, a dedicated team of representatives from Travelers, CVS/Aetna, Prat & Whitney, Robinson & Cole, Reid & Riege, and M&T Bank has been hard at work for months organizing the 6th Annual Hope & Home Celebration. This signature event, benefitting Mercy Housing and Shelter Corporation and My Sisters’ Place, promises to make a significant impact when it takes place on Friday, October 25th, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Bond Ballroom in Hartford.

This fundraising gala for Mercy Housing and My Sisters’ Place is dedicated to supporting the homeless in Greater Hartford and Middletown. Around 250 guests are expected to enjoy an evening of live music, an open bar, and gourmet dinner stations, all while bidding on over one-hundred live and silent auction items. The funds raised will help ensure that Mercy Housing and My Sisters’ Place can continue their essential work. Dubbed the “event of the season,” this gala offers a wonderful night out with friends while contributing to vital efforts to help individuals in the community achieve stability and independence.

Kara Capone, CEO of Community Housing Advocates, the parent organization of Mercy Housing and My Sisters’ Place, highlighted the profound impact these two organizations have had in addressing  homelessness in our community. “With over 40 years of experience leading the charge, Mercy Housing and My Sisters’ Place have made significant strides in serving the homeless, and that’s something to truly celebrate,” she stated. “Our goal is to make an even greater difference in the future by ultimately ending homelessness in the region, and this is why we depend on the funds raised through this signature event.”

Last year, Mercy Housing and My Sisters’ Place provided assistance to approximately 4,000 individuals and families in need of housing, food, medical care, and case management services. The funds raised through the Hope & Home Celebration are vital in sustaining these essential services, offering clients the support and hope they need to rebuild their lives.
