September 6, 2023 | Express Strategies, a local public relations consultancy now in its 12th year of operation, has opened a new business location this month in the heart of Downtown Hartford. Founded by longtime communication professional Bernard Kavaler, Express Strategies provides strategic communication services including media relations, advocacy writing, content development and project management.

Recognized as one of the region’s outstanding PR firms, Express Strategies has developed expertise working with global corporations and local businesses, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, professional associations, educational institutions, and foundations.

The new office is located at 20 Church Street, Mezzanine 214, Hartford, CT 06103.  The office is adjacent to the well-known Upward Hartford co-working space, providing easy access for prospective clients and ample conference space for meetings, presentations and conferences.

Within the past year, Express Strategies has published the first two quick-read booklets in a new series providing insights for businesses, nonprofits and organizations of all sizes and stripes. The booklets, “6 Secret Benefits of Collaboration” and “7 Ways to Boost Your PR Profile,” are now available in hard copy from Express Strategies or can be downloaded free of charge at www.express-strategies.com.  The next booklet in the insight series is slated for publication later this year.

Express Strategies is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, earning an A+ rating, and is highly rated in the region by numerous online national public relations rating services.  Articles by Bernard Kavaler have been published in The Hartford Courant, Medium, Hartford Business Journal, CT Mirror, Connecticut Post, New Haven Register and other publications.

“It is a privilege to strengthen Express Strategies’ presence in Connecticut’s Capital City, particularly as businesses and employees return to Hartford with increasing frequency since the end of the public health emergency necessitated by the pandemic,” said Kavaler.  “Connecting businesses, nonprofits and organizations with the public and effectively sharing news that matters has many benefits. It is invigorating to contribute to communicating good news.”

Prior to founding Express Strategies in 2012, Kavaler served as a key member of the executive staff of four of Connecticut’s constitutional officers and the state’s university system.  His leadership positions included service with the Offices of Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of the State and State Treasurer. He also served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs for the Connecticut State University System, has taught as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Hartford, and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Professional Speechwriters Association.
