Giving campaign and heartwarming event available to help inspire staff

Hartford, Conn. The holidays are right around the corner and The Village for Families & Children has the perfect opportunity for companies to engage their staff and make a difference for local families in need.

The Village’s annual Holiday Giving Tree program—which has been running for more than ten years—provides hope and holiday joy for families and promises to deliver the same for companies who participate. In fact, staff will be given the unique opportunity to attend a special event in December to see the impact of their generosity.

During the holiday season, many families The Village serves face the dilemma of providing their basic needs—like food or rent—or purchasing gifts for their children. The Village’s annual Holiday Giving Tree program helps alleviate this difficult choice. Donors to the program help raise funds that are used to purchase gift cards to stores like Walmart and Target so families can select gifts for their children, put food on the table and truly enjoy “the most wonderful time of the year” together.

Last year, generous donors from local corporations and communities raised more than $45,000 for the Holiday Giving Tree program and ensured thousands of local children had gifts to open during the holidays.

“If we have helped one family experience a little more Christmas magic than they may have not experienced, that is the thing I’m most proud of,” said Dana Misorski, a Village ambassador who, along with her husband, has raised more than $36,000 for the Holiday Giving Tree since 2015.

Companies interested in participating should contact Village Senior Director of Development Sarah Adanti at sadanti@thevillage.org or 860-989-7534. Learn more about the Holiday Giving Tree program at thevillage.org/hgt.
