Fresh Faces Bring Finance, DEI Focus
HARTFORD – Interval House—Connecticut’s largest domestic violence agency—announced today four new members of its Board of Directors: Yvonne Alston, Ritu Goel, Richard Marciano and Shell Sawyer. All attended their first meeting of the Board on Thursday, March 16.
“Interval House is pleased to welcome these dynamic members of the community to our family,” said Mary-Jane Foster, President and CEO. “We are committed to maintaining a diverse Board that reflects the population we serve, but are particularly fortunate to also have attracted members who possess the professional skills and connections that will contribute to our financial health and programmatic excellence as we move forward into a new strategic phase.”
Yvonne Alston is an unapologetically authentic amplifier and advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. She established Indelible Impressions Consulting to advance important conversations, education and competencies to help organizations understand the importance of culture and its impact on the human experience. Alston’s firm and team focus on centering the employee experience, amplifying personal and professional value, and inspiring hearts and minds as they challenge systems of inequity, champion dimensions of diversity, and drive inclusive practices holistically. Alston will serve on the Governance Committee.
Ritu Goel is an experienced realtor with very strong customer focus, indestructible work ethics, and proactive trouble-shooting skills. She has served as Chair for the South Windsor Human Relations Commission for the past five years, is President-Elect for the Manchester Rotary, and participates in several other community-based volunteer organizations. Goel’s involvement on various boards and commissions has enabled her to serve her community while expanding her network and building capacity for diversity, equity and inclusion. Domestic violence is an issue close to Goel’s heart, and she is honored to join the Board. She will serve on the Governance Committee.
Richard Marciano is a seasoned professional with nearly 15 years of experience in private wealth management. He specializes in the planning and development of innovative investment strategies that align with clients’ long-term goals and risk tolerance. Marciano hopes his expertise in investments and risk management will be a valuable asset to Interval House as it continues to build and preserve capital. Marciano is a resident of Cromwell, where he resides with his wife and two children. He will serve on the Finance Committee.
Shell Sawyer is CEO and President at Finding Strength with Shell. Her company helps women who are contemplating divorce navigate the process and make smart decisions for their future. Shell brings a wealth of financial expertise to the board, with over 20 years in the financial services industry. Sawyer holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of New Haven, and is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®). As a survivor of child abuse and someone who often sees intimate partner abuse in her practice, she is excited to join the Board of Directors at Interval House to increase awareness and do her part to put an end to domestic violence forever. Sawyer will serve on the Finance Committee.
