Hartford, CT – May 2024 – Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH) is proud to announce the 21st Annual Polaris Awards, an evening dedicated to honoring outstanding leaders in our community. The Polaris Awards recognize individuals who embody the values of Community, Leadership, and Connections, and serve as guiding lights in our region.
This prestigious event, known as LGH’s largest fundraising initiative of the year, will take place at Infinity Music Hall Hartford on Tuesday, June 4th, from 5:30pm to 9pm.
The Honorees:
- Thea Montañez, former Chief Operating Officer for the City of Hartford, who has been a lifelong advocate for criminal justice reform and supporting justice-impacted youth and adults.
- Charter Oak Boxing Academy, which in addition to providing state-of-the-art foundations in physical fitness, nutrition and Olympic boxing skills to city youth, integrates holistic personal development and life skills education, helping young people develop positive self-esteem, strong character, work ethic, discipline, and a commitment to community.
- Janine D. McMahon, a leadership coaching and consultant who is deeply involved in the Hartford community as a local volunteer, working to amplify both resident and parent voices in local and statewide initiatives.
What to Expect: The Polaris Awards promises an evening filled with inspiration, entertainment, and celebration:
- Networking Reception: Kick off the night from 5:30pm to 7pm with a vibrant Networking Reception featuring delectable offerings from local restaurants.
- Awards Ceremony: At 7pm, prepare to be inspired as we present the Polaris Awards from the illustrious stage of Infinity Music Hall Hartford.
- Dessert and Champagne After Party: Cap off the evening from 8pm to 9pm with more time for celebration, indulging in delightful desserts, champagne and live music.
The Polaris Raffle: Now Live!
Even if unable to attend in person, supporters can still participate in the festivities and contribute to LGH’s mission through the Polaris Raffle. Each $5 entry provides a chance to win one of three exciting prize packages, with all proceeds directly benefiting LGH’s programs and mission work aimed at fostering more inclusive communities through leadership training.
