HARTFORD, CONN. – People of all abilities, ages and fitness levels can register now for the MOVE! With the Urban League of Greater Hartford 5K and one-mile race on Saturday, July 22, 2023. The Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) and the Urban League of Greater Hartford (ULGH) are collaborating again to host the Move! 5K and Movement Festival, which includes the races, a one-mile walk, free kids fun run and an assortment of fitness activities in the historic Keney Park.

Returning after the success of the inaugural event in 2022, this celebration of the many ways members of the community are active will also showcase the products and services of community businesses and  health equity stakeholders. At 9 a.m., the 5K and one-mile run/walk will begin and will be followed by the free HMF FitKids half-mile run. Between 9 a.m. and 12 noon, the public is invited to enjoy the free Movement Festival of fitness activities, health resources, nutritious snacks, giveaways, and entertainment featuring DJ Linda Reynolds and the Hot 93.7 Street Team.

With the support of presenting sponsor Pratt & Whitney and a host of partners and participating groups, including the Urban League of Greater Hartford Young Professionals, proceeds will go toward helping the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s work to improve racial equity through economic empowerment programs in education, employment, housing, health and social justice. The family-friendly event offers participants ages 12 and under free entry to the 5K. The entry fee of $10 for 13 to 21-year-olds and $20 for adults ages 22 and older includes a tee shirt (also available for purchase).
