Ileana Polanco Cavazos and Laura Rankin recognized for improving the lives of domestic violence survivors throughout Connecticut
HARTFORD, CT (May 13, 2024) – Robinson+Cole lawyer Ileana Polanco Cavazos and legal administrative assistant Laura Rankin were named to the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) First 100 Plus Class of 2024 during the organization’s 13th Annual Breakfast & Awards Ceremony on May 10, 2024, at the Hartford Marriott Downtown in Hartford, Connecticut.
The First 100 Plus Class of 2024 is comprised of leaders working to improve outcomes for domestic violence survivors and their families in Connecticut. Ileana and Laura join several other Robinson+Cole employees to have been recognized by the CCADV in prior years. All Robinson+Cole honorees have participated in the firm’s Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO) Program, which assists victims of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders against their abusers. Robinson+Cole Environmental, Energy + Telecommunications Group chair, Kenneth C. Baldwin, serves on CCADV’s Board of Directors.
A member of Robinson+Cole’s Business Litigation Group, Polanco Cavazos focuses her practice on business litigation and has experience in a variety of areas including political law, food, and drug regulation.
Rankin has been working with Robinson+Cole’s Litigation Section as a legal administrative assistant for more than a decade. She has provided critical administrative support to R+C’s team of volunteer lawyers working on DVRO cases.
CCADV is the state’s leading voice for victims of domestic violence and those agencies that serve them. It is a membership organization of Connecticut’s 18 domestic violence service agencies that provide critical support to victims, including counseling, support groups, emergency shelter, court advocacy, safety planning, and lethality assessment, among other services. CCADV works to change social conditions through policy, advocacy, public awareness, and community education.
