Shipman & Goodwin LLP is pleased to announce that Timothy S. Klimpl has joined the firm as Counsel in the Tax and Employee Benefits Practice Group.

“We are very fortunate to have someone with Tim’s credentials, wealth of experience, and years of practice in ERISA, executive compensation, and employee benefit matters join our group,” said Richard Cohen, Chair of Shipman’s Employee Benefits Practice Group. “His talents add further depth to our strong team, and we are thrilled to have him on board on behalf of our clients.”

Tim brings 12 years of ERISA advice and related services to Shipman’s Employee Benefits Practice Group. He represents a variety of plan sponsors on employee benefit plans, including corporate, nonprofit, and governmental plans providing retirement, health, and other employee welfare benefits. Tim plays a key role in merger and acquisition transactions, often advising employers on equity and incentive compensation, including stock options, restricted stock, “phantom equity”, deferred compensation plans, and executive employment and severance agreements. He represents clients in a variety of industries, including financial, private equity, construction, clean energy, medical, fashion, talent acquisition, and legal industries.

Tim is a member of the Fairfield County Bar Association where he chairs the Employment Law Committee and co-chairs the Business Law Committee. He is licensed to practice in Connecticut and New York.
