In a world where all too often, people forget to say “THANK YOU,” we want to show some gratitude to our good friends at the Dish Restaurant Group. During this pandemic, the restaurant industry has been hit extremely hard. With large businesses in Hartford all working from home, people aren’t eating out as much and many restaurants have had to close. We recently learned that “Dish Bar & Grill” in Hartford, which is one of Dish Restaurant Group’s businesses had to close their doors, which is so unfortunate because for 13 years they offered their customers an upscale bar and modern twists on comfort foods! As much as we love ALL the food served at the various Dish Restaurant Group locations (Sorella in Hartford, Tavern at Keney Park in Windsor, and Dish n’ Dat in Canton) – we here at First Tee – Connecticut love the Dish Restaurant Group for another reason.
For the past 14 years, Dish hosted a golf tournament in memory of Thomas Altmann, who’s passion in life was the restaurant business. The golf tournament was called “The Final Final Open” and it was organized by Dish Managing Partner Danny Keller, Partner Dr. Paul Bocciarelli and Chef Partner Bill Carbone. First Tee – Connecticut was the very fortunate beneficiary of this golf tournament which raised over $300,000 over its 14 years existence. First Tee – Connecticut is a youth development organization whose mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character and instill life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Thanks to the generosity of Danny, Paul, and Bill at the Dish Restaurant Group, they’ve helped us reach over 71,000 youth in Connecticut year after year. We would be remiss to not thank the Dish Restaurant Group for our 14-year partnership! It is a good reminder to all of us that showing gratitude is one of the simplest, yet most powerful things humans can do for one another!!
