Hartford, Conn. – (Feb. 5, 2024) – United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut today announced that the Travelers Foundation, the charitable arm of Travelers, has awarded the organization $325,000 to support its mission of bringing together the right people and resources to ensure that children succeed academically and families achieve financial security.

“We are extremely grateful for the Travelers Foundation’s commitment. Transformative awards like this one help United Way expand its reach to create maximum community impact and meaningfully engage employees where they live and work,” said Eric Harrison, President and CEO, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut. “This significant investment allows us to close gaps and create opportunities for children, adults and families in our region.”

Travelers ensures opportunity by contributing to efforts that create strong, vibrant communities and offer pathways to success. Through corporate funding and the Travelers Foundation, Travelers targets its giving to three key outcomes: academic and career success, thriving neighborhoods and culturally enriched communities.

“We’re proud of our longtime partnership with United Way,” said Erin Haberman, Assistant Vice President of the Travelers Foundation. “Through their efforts to address complex issues and create positive change, United Way is building a stronger, more resilient future.”

In addition to the Travelers Foundation award and the employee engagement partnership at its offices in Hartford, Connecticut, Travelers also works with United Way to engage employees in special fundraising events across the country.
